Is flash dead now?

After Apple started to call flash evil, the company has found a friend in enemy google: google also loves html5. The big question is, of course, is flash dead and buried?

I love flash for certain reasons. I love what you can do with it - beautiful animations, animated objects and smoothness. But, it is a fact that flash is heavy on cpu or gpu power. It always has been.
Another question is also if flash is right for websites. Honestly, I don't think so. Html is right for websites, and the extensions version 5 offers over 4 are very interesting.

In short, I believe flash is dead. For the web, at least. What I would like to see is a unified language to build applications in. I know it is possible, but different companies have their reasons not to want to work together with the others in the playing field. It's incredible, but we don't have a unified platform because comp1 doesn't want to work with comp2 and so on, because they are only interested in having and keeping all of their customers for themselves. Opening up their platforms to allow apps that will work on all of them would mean for them to let go of this protection. It would be best for customers, but obviously they do not care about what customers want or need, but only what they can push customers to get.

It's a sad situation which reflects human nature (generally speaking). Think of all the conflict in the world. There is no difference.
